Bunratty Holiday Village

Development consisting of 56 holiday homes with the grounds of the Fitzpatrick Hotel.
The engineering aspects of the scheme comprise foul and storm drainage, water supply, gas, electrical, site lighting and telecom supplies. An overhead 38kV transmission line which required diversion and buried MV/LV cables also required diversion. Gas and watermain diversions were also required to allow the development to proceed. Among the services provided to each house were dedicated structured cabling for data and telephony interconnection and CT-165 coaxial cable to provide satellite and terrestrial reception.
The foul drainage required coordination with improvement works to be carried out within the adjoining Bunratty Folk Park and the storm drainage outfall was severely limited in terms of capacity, discharging via an existing 300mm diameter sewer through adjoining lands. The stormwater disposal solution involved the provision of 2 no. attenuation tanks, one to limit the overall outfall from the site and the other further upstream to control the discharge from the proposed development into the existing storm system.
